- Amla (Indian Gooseberry)
You may not know but Amla juice is very effective in relieving acidity and heartburn. High amount of fiber in amla help to regulate bowel movements and relieve digestive ailments like GERD, diarrhoea, and stomach ulcers
How to take?
You may take it as a juice, as a powder or even as a kadha. Yummy chutney and pickle can also be a solution.
- Bael Sharbat (Wood apple Juice)
Bael is known for its soothing and cooling effect on stomach. It has lots of fibre and improves digestion. It can relieve constipation, diarrhea, indigestion, ulcers & piles. We understand that the idea of drinking bel juice might not seem very appealing. But the bel tree and all its parts are considered sacred in India and South Asian religions, for a good reason.
How to take?
You can prepare Bel ka sharbat by using the ripe fruit and have it daily. All you need to do is break open a Bael and scoop out the pulp using a spoon. Soak the pulp in a cup of water for a few minutes and use your hands to blend the pulp. Strain water to remove the seeds and discard them. Blend the Bael pulp further into a smooth mixture. Add sugar or jaggery (gud) as per taste for easy ayurvedic remedy for gas.
- Ghritkumari (Aloe Vera)
Aloe vera juice contains several compounds known to act as laxatives. While drinking aloe vera juice is unlikely to cause digestive issues in people with normal bowel movements, it has shown promise as a way to relieve constipation. Aloe vera juice is extremely beneficial for people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). This condition involves the inflammation of the intestine, leading to pain and other issues. Aloe has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties.
How to take?
Take aloe vera juice (1/4th cup) with water (1/2 cup) every day in the morning on an empty stomach.
- Chaach (Buttermilk)
Chaach /Buttermilk is an effective home remedy for treating severe constipation, indigestion or acidity. Buttermilk is a boon for our digestive system. Healthy bacteria and lactic acid in buttermilk help digestion and improve our metabolism.
It also helps maintain regular bowel movements and helps people who suffer from constipation. It also helps to prevent stomach infections, lactose intolerance and colon cancer.
How to take?
Make it a habit to have a glass of buttermilk in the morning (empty stomach). You could also add triphala powder (1 teaspoon) to a glass of buttermilk and have it after meals.
